Set up a printer on Windows
Add a printer in Windows 10 or 11, install the driver, and print a test page.
- Power the printer on and connect it to Wi‑Fi or USB. Wait until the ready light is steady.
- On the PC: Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → Add device.
- Select your printer when it appears. If it does not, choose Add manually and search by name or IP.
- Allow Windows to install the driver, or download the full package from the manufacturer if the basic driver is missing features (scan, fax, wireless).
- Open the queue → Printer → Printing preferences and set paper size to Letter (or A4).
- Print a test page from Printer properties. If jobs sit in the queue, see the print spooler article.
Technician notes
- Use a USB cable for the first install if Wi‑Fi discovery fails, then switch to wireless.
- Remove old copies of the same printer in Settings to avoid printing to a ghost device.
