Print from iPhone or Android
AirPrint, Mopria and brand apps for phones and tablets.
- Connect the phone and printer to the same Wi‑Fi network (not cellular, not a guest VLAN).
- iPhone/iPad: open the file → Share → Print. Choose the printer. AirPrint printers appear automatically.
- Android: use the Print option in a document app, or enable Default Print Service / Mopria in Settings → Connected devices → Printing.
- If the printer is missing, install the maker’s mobile app (HP Smart, Canon PRINT, Epson iPrint, Brother Mobile Connect) and add the device there.
- Print a one-page PDF first. Photo paper size must match the tray (often 4×6 vs Letter).
- For scanning, use the brand app — AirPrint does not always expose scan.
Technician notes
- VPN on the phone blocks discovery. Turn it off while adding the printer.
- iOS and Android will not see a USB-only printer unless you add a Wi‑Fi adapter.
